I bought a very rare mouthpiece from Mike and when I got it, it exceeded my expectations in every way. It's condition matched the photos he sent me and he really understands vintage saxophone gear very well. His website is easy to navigate with no inconsistencies. He was patient with my questions and very responsive. This was exceptionally helpful since I do not live in Calgary or in CAN. I would surely do business with him again. His price was attractive and it reflects his knowledge of the vintage instrument market. I asked for no discount. He deserves respect because many other businesses I have dealt with previously, will not always be honest and take advantage of the distance. Mike hid no imperfections and that is key in this market. Thanks, Mike! Be well, stay safe!

Mike is a absolute wizard. I brought in my leblanc paperclip contra alto a instrument with extreme complexity in design and he sat down and spent the time adjusting it and fixing the last technicians mistakes. Every horn I bring him he does a amazing job on and has given me tons on advice on whether or not to buy certain horns and he hasn't given me bad info yet. I highly recommend him as your regular technician. it's amazing service for great value!!

Mike was honest and competent at fixing the problem with my saxophone. He also explained some history as to why/how the instrument was made different over the years which is why I was finding it challenging to play. The parts are fixed and he gave me some extra tips on making it sound better.

After not playing for close to 40 years I picked up my Trombone again, it was okay until my chops came back. Then I noticed the slide was sticking, a definite ding in the outer slide. A friend referred me to Mike, he found the slight dent and fixed that plus some other issues. Very nice tune up and cleaning. Plays like the Conn 88H I bought so many years ago. Highly recommend Mike; fast, efficient and reasonably priced for such great work!

I was overnighting in Calgary, en route from a gig in Edmonton to Salmon Arm - with NO time to spare, and my flute had popped a spring (or so I thought, though I couldn't figure out where). I phoned Blue Note Music after seeing the website when searching for woodwind repairs in Calgary, and to my surprise (it was early on Friday morning, leading into a long weekend) - Mike answered...! Mike invited me over right away, even though he was preparing to leave for the long weekend. Thank goodness: it wasn't just a spring; my flute was in rough road shape and there were several tweaks that needed to be made. No problem: Mike saved the day. He had me sorted out with a fully tuned instrument and back on the road within 20 minutes, for a very reasonable rate. He was helpful, professional, and explained what he was doing so that I left with a better understanding of my instrument (and hopefully won't wind up in the same situation again). And I was able to make my gig that night in plenty of time. My only complaint is that I wish I had such a personable, quality technician for my instrument in my hometown. Thanks, Mike!

Mike is a master technician! He has done an unbelivable job working on my horns over this past year. He has made my horns play better than new, and he has given me wonderful suggestions when it comes to tuning and adjusting. I play alot, and I've needed many adjustments, mike had always been reachable and has worked me into his schedule whenever needed. He is a very kind, humble, knowledgable person and has always gone above and beyond. I cant recommend his services enough!

Mike Griffin is certainly a master in restoring ailing instruments. I entrusted him with my flute and each time I play it, I marvel at its' renewed richness of sound.
