I have had Ted Gerber tune my piano at school (I'm a music teacher) as well as our own piano at home. He has been nothing but honest and reliable about all of his work. Both pianos sound amazing when he was done working with them. My instruments are precious to me and I would not trust them with just anyone. I cannot say enough good things about his work and his character. Ted is always upfront about what needs to be done and he does it with professionalism. I highly recommend Gerber's Pianoworks.

Ted has tuned my baby grand numerous times and done work on it over the past 15 years. He is honest and hard-working. He is dependable and does a fantastic job. Ted has impressed us over 20 years for his unusual skill in piano tuning, his dependability in meeting appointments promptly and cheerfully, his unusual expertise and keen interest in the science and mechanics of sound, his unfailing efforts to make our less-than-ideal baby grand sing, and his integrity. An example of the last quality relates to a time when he purchased a vintage guitar from my husband who set an estimate. Ted researched the item, found it had been attributed a higher value, and returned to say he would only pay the higher price. There are 3 musicians in our house and Ted has to meet the various standards of each when it comes to our piano. He has done that in spades. If he can't fix it, it cannot be fixed. We trust him implicitly.
Ted Gerber's piano services are second to none. He has been taking care of our pianos for the past 20 years and has always done a top notch job as well as informing us about what is needed to to keep our piano in the best shape possible. Ted is friendly, extremely knowledgeable and the best piano technician we have ever dealt with.
Ted has been tuning the piano at my church for a number of years now. We have a Thursday night rehearsal and it is then we notice the piano is in need to a tuning. I will reach out to him late Thursday or Friday asking if he can fit us in. He always makes it work to ensure the piano is tuned for our Sunday services. There has been the occasion where he has been in attendance on a Sunday morning and noticed the piano is out, he has gone to his car, grabbed his gear and given it a quick touch up between services with out even being asked. Can't beat that for service!! He hears things most people don't even notice and is nothing less than a perfectionist when it comes to his tuning standards. We have been having an issue with the piano being effected by humidity, Ted has proposed to monitor the levels in the room to help keep the piano in tune longer. Others would just keep tuning and billing yet Ted will try and find a solution even though it could mean less tuning service for him, always having the clients best interest in mind.
I have a 1926 Steinway baby grand piano and have been in the music industry as a performer, teacher and accompanist for over 50 years. Ted is and has been the only person I trust to maintain the Steinway which he has been doing since the late nineties. When my church decided to purchase a baby grand I knew who to ask about it. He placed a gorgeous Heintzman that his company had personally restored into our Sanctuary. The sound is clear and the instrument is a joy to play. Ted travels 240k one way to make sure the pianos are tuned and adjusted regularly. In addition to my Steinway and the Heintzman, Ted tunes and maintains all the pianos for The Festival of the Sound, a summer venue that brings hundreds of musical performers to our community every year. Ted is always professional, always knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile for any of his clientele.
