I have purchased products from Burnco in the past and been very happy, my recent experience was horrible. I ordered 20mm product, same as I have ordered in the past. This time I got more 10mm or smaller product, also lots of dirt and other colored 40 mm rocks in the mix. It looks like they were cleaning the yard and I got a bad mix of scraping the bottom and cleaning up the yard. I suggest if you purchase here you insist on being there to watch them load the product to make sure you get what you ordered and not a lot of bad product.
We did our landscaping in September. I would highly recommend you check other stores and compare prices. BURNCO's most basic stones were highly overpriced. I bought my stones from Lowes (10 mins away from BURNCO's) for MUCH cheaper. Delivery is standard in Lowes, if you are buying 1 pallet or 5 pallets, deliver is the same price. Lowes will also give you money back if you can manage to return the wooden pallets. As well, gravel, sand, and fabric was also VERY overpriced. I recommend you check out ORNAMENTAL STONE/WONDER TOTE for these things. They give you a extra discount for every bag when you buy in bulk with delivery included in the price. BURNCO's delivery charges are ridiculous. They have a standard price, then for every pallet after 3, there is additional cost. Seems unreasonable since you are buying bulk from them. In general, everything we got a quote on from them was overpriced and we were able to find materials from other places for far cheaper. I would highly recommend customers to shop around and get quotes from multiple different places.
Visited this location today to gather some supplies for a backyard project. We found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable. They had everything we needed. The employees in the yard were quick to load our truck, they were polite and respectful young men. The location is clean and easy to move your vehicle around in order to gather your supplies. I have no problem giving these guys 5 stars. Thank you for good customer service!
The staff and product availability here are great. They have always been very helpful and knowledgeable, I highly recommend for any landscape supply needs.
Exactly as advertised. No fancy marble sculpture. No playground. Just landscape supplies. Employees are friendly and helpful considering the high turnover. The in stock selection is the best in Calgary
Despite the volumes they put through, they only have one scale, huge lines as a result generally disorganized. More expensive than competitors.
Decent product selection but some of the worst customer service around. The people here make you feel like they're doing you a favor by allowing you to spend your money there. Sour faces and attitudes behind the counter are reminiscent of shopping in post-communist Eastern Europe. Not everyone there is like this but definitely some sour apples - pun intended. Their combination of pricing in cubic yards, tonnes, tons, and lbs is enough to make your head (and wallet) spin. Wouldn't be surprised if you get a gravel quote in rupees/stone. Indian rupees or Zelda rupees - you will find out at check-out. I called their main line to voice my issue but was told that I have to take up my complaint with the store manager. Everyone here is just passing the problem around. They told me that if I had a problem I should have just left the product at the store. This was somewhat difficult once your truck is all loaded up. Make sure to give the competition a try! I know I will.
