Bought 2 yds topsoil from these people. This is how it looks 2 months later. Hasn't been absorbed and full of weeds. Crew coming with decent soil from a competitor tomorrow. This will cost me 1000 to rectify. DON'T buy soil from this place.

Firewood is full of water! I recently bought a “trunk load” of firewood, when I asked the attendants if the wood would burn since its stored outside they assured me that “it’s ready to burn”. Well, during a failed attempt to burn this wood, we saw the wood foaming up and water boiling, also, massive explosions with hot embers blowing up from the fire pit we decided to just pour water on the whole thing since it didn’t feel safe. Do not buy firewood from this place.

I have used this company every year gravel, wood, stone. Never again. The service level is poor. They act like they are doing you a favour by allowing you to shop there. We always try and shop local but this company makes it too difficult to to give them my money.

Counter help answers phones while you wait to be served, Even though you were standing there before the phone rang, more than once! When I called to speak to the manager after walking out and being disgusted for the lack of customer service, He responded with I was standing in the wrong spot, even though there was nobody else at the counter. I was the only one in the whole building. Not one of the four people at the counter asked me if I needed help with anything. They all made eye contact even looked at the manager from his office 30 feet away who saw me but persisted to tell me that I was at fault! If this is their manager no wonder the professionalism is the way it is. I own my own business and buy construction materials in the summertime in large amounts and large amounts of salt for my commercial properties for plowing in the winter. I am now not buying a single thing From Hbs again Because of Victor and his staff. After looking at their last six reviews, four of them are one stars. I guess everyone else are idiots lately too Victor? Might be time for a manager change!

I rented a truck purchased a bulk yard of triple mix. When I got home and was going to unload it I noticed a large sand content in the soil. It was not triple mix. I went back to complain and they said every place has there own mix. Wrong. Triple mix soil generally consists of 1/3 soil, 1/3 peat moss and 1/3 compost. There was very little organic material and it was not dark in color. It was exactly the same as there cheap soil, light and sandy. (not the same nutrients) I offered a solution of removing half of the soil and topping it up with their premium soil which would come close to a triple mix. The manager refused. I had them take the soil off my truck and never will buy anything from them again. I did them a favour of pointing out their supplier had given them a bad batch of soil. Instead of being appreciative they treated me like dirt. Burlington building Supply had much nicer soil 40% cheaper and less busy. You owe me 40.00 for the truck and mileage.
