Alex was great to work with. His ideas were clearly laid out and he was able to listen to our ideas and incorporate them into our plan. He was very good at editing all ideas, both his and ours, to ensure the project was financially realistic in scope. His unflappable style allowed us to relax and enjoy the process even though we had been through a stressful house renovation a couple of years previously! The team that executed the work were polite and punctual as well. Our garden has warm and cold weather interest and functions quite well even though two slopes run through the site. The neighborhood kids love coming over through the little gate we put in to get through to the neighbor’s garden and they love to clamber on the sturdy stone walls and stand at the waterfall. Alex has been great on follow up with the few plants that failed to survive a winter and with suggestions of where to go for other garden related purchases, eg. An awning for the deck. I think you would have a pleasurable experience and have a great product if you engaged bsq for your landscape project - large or small. He did a small one a couple of streets away from us and it looks great 3-4 years later, as does ours which was a much larger back garden project. Thank you Alex and the bsq team!!

They designed and supervised the creation of a complex Japanese-style garden with a pond, stone work, many plants, concrete driveway and more. They also renovated other parts of our garden. The result is excellent - very happy with it. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that the project took a few months to get started, so we missed a season of potentially enjoying the result.
I came out of our year-long project with more respect for Alex than when we went in. Which is saying a lot because it was a difficult year. He’s not fast, but thorough, and I’d certainly hire him again. He watched the budget closer than I did. Took care of details I didn’t notice. Most important he was a steady hand on the tiller even when I wavered towards the end. I had no idea what we were getting into, but am glad we hired the right team. Even his fees seemed reasonable considering the time and effort involved.
These guys are the real deal. I had the pleasure of working with both of these gentleman on various jobs. I cannot speak highly enough of their attention to detail and devotion to excellence.
