What a lovely little shop! The owner is helpful, knowledgeable, and so so kind. She makes an effort to showcase Canadian literature in general as well as local authors, with multiple signed copies in stock of a few different titles. We also had a nice little chat about Heather O'Neill and Margaret Atwood. I found some lovely summer reading, and my partner found some perfect kids books for teaching. Just the cutest little place, I'd certainly come back to the city just to visit there.

We enjoyed a visit to the lovely little town of Bayfield last summer. So, recently when we found out that a doctor friend of ours was living there, we naturally thought of the Village Bookshop on Main Street to send a gift certificate. Even with the Covid crisis and shops being closed, they jumped on it, wrapping it up beautifully and delivered it quickly. This became such a huge uplifting gift, as our friend is removed from friends and family and it was such a welcome birthday gift. He has ordered books already and l think he will be a repeat customer at the Village Bookshop, as we will.!!
