I used to come here when I worked with a local carpenter and it was amazing. Well it hasn’t changed still a great home made meal with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The hardest part was choosing one thing on the menu. The burger was amazing and the beet salad was even better than I expected. Cant wait to come back! Will try to take pictures before I eat half the meal next time... so good!

We had a great evening dining experience at the Black Dog. Even with the COVID-19 restrictions the staff did a great job providing excellent service and a great meal. The daily special was pan seared wild boar which was excellent. Had a great chat with the waiter who turned out to be the new owner of the pub. We wish him all the best for the future.
Extraordinary service. Wait staff can make or break an establishment and the professionalism my family received, and the knowledge of this, was truly on display at The Black Dog Pub and Bistro. While vacationing in Bayfield, we went for dinner at the pub twice this past week. The premises are clean, the atmosphere is exactly what we were looking for and the food is both delicious and beautifully presented. My only regret is that we probably won’t be visiting again until next year. Thank you for the delicious food, wine and beer! Until next time....!
Pleasantly surprised as we all 3 of us ordered the Thanksgiving Special. We were not expecting a tasty oven roasted turkey open an open the bread topped with garlic mashed potatoes with gravy and crispy stuffing. Great meal, awesome service. Beautify fall day on their patio, highly recommend a visit when you're in Bayfield .
My sister made a reservation for my daughter and granddaughter for lunch at the Black Dog.She suggested that my wife and I join them so I made a separate reservation. We knew that we could not sit at the same table or even near them because of COVID restrictions since tables are restricted to 4 persons. We were expecting to be seated at two tables far away from each.When we arrived we were told that we could not stay since we knew each other. The manager spoke to us rudely and asked us to leave. It was very embarrassing. Fortunately, we went next door and enjoyed a delicious meal. We sat in different rooms and after the meal had a lovely walk and visit in the town. I would suggest that the Black Dog try and be more consistent with their seating plans and reservations in future.
