Fairly long story cut short...... I made a return according to their staff's instructions. Their staff made an error during the return which resulted in a manager calling me and looking for an additional 20.....no problem right? Mistakes get made all the time and 20 was not going to put me in the poor house. The upsetting part of the interaction was that the manager used the threat that they would have to \take the 20 out of the staff member's wages\ if I was not willing to pay it - when I had shown no intent whatsoever of not paying. I understand that these are very difficult times for retail businesses. The stuff I was buying can easily be obtained online; but we chose to \buy local\. This managers' bald-faced manipulative approach and willingness to lose a loyal customer are, frankly, inexcusable. One month later: OK.....Sojourn has responded.....and rather than just take responsibility for their threat to dock the employees wages for the 20.00 due to their error; they have opted to ignore that issue all together and begin with some flowery corporate speak and then try to fob the error off on me. So disingenuous! Just to be crystal clear here.....I do not care a whit about paying for a pair of socks....my concern is for the employees who have to work in an environment where their management would threaten monetary punishment under these circumstances. I worked in retail management myself. Under these circumstances my move was to educate the employee, and then take the 20.00 out of my own pocket, put it in the till so the books balanced, and then adjust the inventory appropriately.

Just wanted to follow up anyone reading these , I just bought 2 speedcross 5gtx in the Salomon store in Toronto at donmills . 30% off they were 156 taxes in for the goretex model . It seems like these smaller stores don’t care about trying to make a buck after the lock down pretty sad . Pretty bad customer service , wanted to buy 2 pairs of Solomon’s speedcross today . Unfortunately they don’t price match outside of the area and it needs to show exact stock not a .5 size off as pertaining to my shoe size . You figure for a small store that has been closed due to Covid they would want to make a sale and move some volume but no sir not here .
