I would not recommend AutoTrader.ca to anyone. Low viewership and too many scam ads placed. They allow scam ads and not legitimate private sellers based on their so called internal security system. Deny deny deny the ability to post an ad for no apparent reason? Scammers welcome! I see the same scam ads on Autotrader.ca and I am denied? Why? Just post your free private ad to Kijiji.ca and forget this dealership centric site.

Do not use this platform - it is a waste of both time and money. Both my husband and I posted an ad for our vehicles on two separate occasions and had the same experience. All inquires were SPAM or fake. People asked for a VIN number, as their first question, and then when we answered back with it they'd either want us to produce a title search or Carfax report. Some would even provide us with a website link to a 3rd party company that could provide these types of reports for a fee. We found this odd and also found it odd that when we agreed to provide these reports once they viewed the vehicle we never heard back from them again... Since both my husband and I had an ad with this company on two separate occasions and both times had the same experience, - SPAM and fake inquires - we thought it important to make a post, so no one else wastes 50 on this service. In comparison received, we did receive 6-10 quality leads off criagslist and had 5 or more people come and view our vehicles. Autotrader isn't the same as it use to be back in the day, (before internet) when it was a paperback, customer service was great and so were the quality of leads. They've completley lost both now. I highly recommend not using this platform and using something else, as it is a waste of time and money - 50 posting fee.....

No customer Service. It's by email and they don't bother responding. Terrible if you need to get any help. Placed a paid ad and then they cancelled it without letting me know. Called them and email them...eventually got it reactivated, but then again it got deleted eventhough they still charged me. No customer service. Craiglist provides much better service and is free. These guys need to up their game and be helpful and actually assist their customers, especially the ones paying!

THIS IS FOR THOSE CAR DEALERSHIPS WHO WANT TO START USING AUTOTRADER. As a business we advertised with Autotrader and found out a lot of leads are fake, also a minor group of customers were coming from the adds during the whole year, whereas they announce that they are the biggest automobil website in Canada. we cancelled the account however we were charged for an additional 5 more weeks before the account was deactivated. After a long follow ups, they ignored our facts and started to bully our manager personally with the collection department. PLEASE BE ADVISED OF OUR EXPERIENCE BEFOR MAKING A RUSH DECISION.

I placed an ad with Autrotrader.ca to sell a vehicle. I received a deposit on it from a buyer, so cancelled the ad. The buyer couldn't get financed, so I went back in to renew the ad. The website said it was renewed and would be live within one hour. By the next day, it was still not live, so I tried to renew it again. Again, the website said it would be alive within an hour, but again, it was not. I tried to call Autotrader, but their phone # no longer works, so I tried to renew it again. Then their website said, "something went wrong" so I tried again. Then it said that my ad was cancelled due to fraudulent activities. I emailed Autotrader through your online contact and gota pop up saying "An error occurred" so I emailed them again, but still no response and no ad. I cannot believe that anyone would ever try to buy advertising through this website. BRUTAL. Thank god for Kijiji.

Placed an ad, paid 50 and received a verification the ad was published. Checked the site and zilch, nada, nothing. Emailed support, heard nothing for 3 days and then I get an email stating they’re looking into it. Another 3 days later, still no ad and no response from their support team. They have 24 hours and I’m going to the BBB.
