I'm a little late posting our review, but wanted to share our experience. This past winter we had the unfortunate pleasure of having water leak into our basement after a freak January rainstorm. I called 8 different companies and got 8 different opinions on where the water was coming from and how we should fix it. When Steve showed up, he did his assessment, but was hesitant to give a quote and suggest an immediate course of action until we had a better idea of where the water was coming from. Fast forward two weeks and another heavy rain storm brought about more seepage - this time Steve suggested a course of action and was on site the next day to dig outside. Within in an hour, they were able to pinpoint the cause - a cracked underground drainage pipe that had not been sealed properly. With a 3-day window of favourable mild weather, his crew dug around the outside of our house to confirm there was no other damage or cracks to the foundation and water proofed the outer wall. There was a slight issue with putting our deck back together, but Steve came back and took care of that issue personally. From start to finish, Steve and the crew at Provincial were efficient and fair with their pricing - no over the top quotes. We waited to fix our basement flooring until the spring, just for peace of mind, and didn't see a drop of water during the many spring storms. Having water in your basement is never a good experience, but Provincial Site Services helped make it as painless as possible - and their 25 year warranty shows the confidence they have in the work they do. Thanks again to Steve and his crew - his honest, straight-forward approach exuded trust and confidence and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. ,

Met with Steve this past August as I wanted to replace my asphalt driveway with concrete. The quote was a touch high but a fair price was negotiated. Once completed I was left with a beautiful concrete driveway. Excellent service, value and workmanship.

Provincial SCAM Services. There's a reason there is only either 5 star reviews or 1 star reviews here. The 1 star reviews are real. Search his name - Steven Gamsby - before you make any deals with this guy. Look for his past work and health history. Talk to his old bookkeeper. KARMA EDIT: For those of you who got scammed, I recommend you get the police involved. I contacted the OPP shortly after the incident and a nice officer took my statement. She informed me that she would instruct him to pay back my deposit or else he would be placed under arrest. A couple of weeks later I received a call from his legal aid informing me that he had a cheque to give me for the full amount of the deposit I paid. Mind you it was only 1000 but I'm hoping some of the others that were owed more can get their money back as well.

Update to original post Before choosing to go with Steven and Provincial Site in June 2020 I looked at the reviews and they were all 5 stars. My personal experience at that time was true as started in my original post. However, fast forward to December 2020, the water leakage in my basement is still unresolved. Frankly, Steven has turned up 1 out of 10 times after repeated promises and tried to fix it but the leakage persists and he is no longer taking my calls and I have made payment in full. I assumed he had taken on more work than the business could handle and was probably in over his head. I’m not making any excuses for him as I have been lied to on several occasions as well. I’m taking a look at the current reviews on the site and I’m appalled that all the recent reviews mirror my current experience. Something evidently went wrong recently. Steven, fix your issues and save your company, you seemed to be doing great until recently. Reach out to your clients, no more lies, only make promises you intend to keep. And by the way, I never got those freebies, they were unfulfilled promises. Original post When I discovered a water leakage in my basement, I called on a number of contractors to give an estimate which they all did but I chose to go with Provincial Site because Steven was the only contractor who showed empathy as this discovery was made two weeks after purchasing a new house. He advised I be patient to ensure the problem persisted as this could be a onetime event not minding he may not have a contract with me if the water leakage turned out to be a one-off. It wasn’t a one-off and so the waterproofing was done, a deck replaced and Steven threw in two freebies of building a base for an outdoor shed as well as a wooden box for a chimney. How many contractors would be this kind and considerate? The service was par excellence and I totally recommend this company.

Worst contractor ever. Hired complete amateur to do a new fence in Bomanville. Hired crew with no truck and no tools. They were borrowing my tools! Post holes were 2 feet short of code, had to come back twice to get them to code, dirt was thrown everywhere and never removed, actual fence was never started after numerous promises of starting the next day. Small claims court is next. Do yourself a favour avoid at all costs. Save yourself the stress.
