We went to Afghan Kitchen South Surrey on Sunday, February 28 and were blown away! Out of all the Dine-Out Vancouver 2021 experiences we've had, this one far exceeded our expectations. Don't be fooled by their reasonable prices, or their down to Earth location (in what my friend described as a strip mall) you get so much value from the experience. The portions are very generous, from the multiple places I have visited for Dine-out Vancouver, this is the only one I walked away from with sufficient leftovers to get a second complete meal out of. The drinks....my goodness, the drinks! And Mom's secret cake....2DIE4!! I am still dreaming about it. Please see the photos in my review with the descriptions of the dishes we ordered and instead let me tell you about the staff! Mahmood was our server. This restaurant is family owned so you get the family feel....I kid you not, Mahmood had not left our table taking our order when the appies arrived, we laughed thinking it was magic, ah, but technology! In any case, everyone was so attentive to our needs that we felt at home! We will return and get through their entire menu because if everything else on the menu is as good as what we had on Sunday, well then, we don't want to miss out!

Beautiful presentation of their dishes, friendly service and lovely interior decoration. We tried their big platter and it was really a treat! Also great that the food is halal. Convenient location and lots of parking. Great job! Keep up the good work!
From the first time we went there we were treated like we had been there everyday since they had opened. The food and service has brought us back ever since. Did take out yesterday and it is still wanting me to go back for more. Love everything about this place from great family run kitchen to front house management. Keep on doing what your doing will keep coming back!! Thanks for everything a restaurant can give.
The food was delish the decors of the restaurant are beautiful. I really appreciate the effort that they put in to create the beautiful dish. I am not from Afghanistan and I don't know how authentic the food was. But clearly the food was different from any other foods I have tried before and it was authentic to me. I loved the experience. The service was great. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. We were confused though. We got 2 drink menus and didn't get food menus at the table. For the food menu, we had to use the QR reader and go online. So, what is the point of using the online thing if you are doing paper thing for drinks ?
