For me, John was on time, did a thorough inspection of the exterior despite very bad weather, took his time inside and pointed out some issues I hadn't noticed, and had his full report ready on the day he had promised. He's an older guy, no doubt, but takes his job seriously and his experience is obvious. He's not the type of guy to BS you: he didn't point out non-issues just to justify his fee, in fact he had a lot of good things to say about the building, but he did uncover some legitimate concerns and told me what to do about them. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised and would hire him again.

I asked John to come out to a house I was looking to purchase to do a home inspection. Due to a mistake on my part, he didn't come out on the day I thought we had arranged. I called him up and he came the very next day. Paid him for his services that day. He had a broken hip when he came to do the inspection, so I was worried that might impair the inspection. He took plenty of pictures and told me that I would get a report by Tuesday 12 PM (Inspection occurred at 4 pm on a Saturday). On Monday, he had another inspection to do he told me. Then on Tuesday, I didn't get a report. Received an email from his wife on Wednesday to tell me he had taken a fall on his inspection on Monday and had to go to hospital for the pain in his hip. She assured me that John would get to my inspection asap when he gets out. He then sent me a letter a few days later to tell me to go ahead with the purchase and to waive the home inspection clause. He said he was in rehab as he had just gone for his hip replacement surgery at this point that he had been waiting for over a year and a half. He said when he got back home from that, he would send me the papers for the home inspection. So I did as he said. Here's the timelines: Feb 27th 2016, Inspection March 1st, waive the conditions March 15th, follow up from me March 20th, reply from John Follow up on May 1st, no answer. As of July 15th, still no inspection report or reply to my email Another thing that bothers me about John is that he doesn't have a cell phone. So I couldn't call him to find out whats happening. He only has a home phone number which has a voice mail. I never directly reached him on first call. When I asked him about it, he said it would distract him from his work and he wants to dedicate 100% of his attention to it. I would avoid this home inspector. When the home inspection rules come into effect in Ontario he wont even be able to work in this business either.

We did NOT have a positive experience with Accurate Home inspection. they were recommended by a friend to us, and John was pleasant on the phone, however i found their services to be un reliable. Here' is what upset me; John came to our home and criticized the HRV and how it had severly impacted our wooden floors. We spoke about it at length. He went on to say how his 24 hr inspection would have identified this earlier. Regardless, we decided this would be stated in our 30 day inspection. I asked to review the report before he submitted it. he assured me in his 30 years he had never missed anything, and had submitted everything on time. guess what? he missed my floors. I followed-up with him and a month later all he said was that he had mentioned the HRV but took no accountability for missing this. He did not offer me a resolution to missing it. Now I have to goto the builder with a major issue that is not mentioned in my inspection. In addition to this I found the report to have alot of disdain for builders. though i'm sure some of it was relevant,i found it distracting and unprofessional. I'm sure John caught many defects and short comings in our house, but missed a big item. for this, I would not recommend him for this reason.

Called for an inspection and the only thing this guy was concerned with was getting paid...which is always a red flag to me. Was rather belligerent on the phone...demanded payment before the work was done - but wouldn't tell me when the report would be ready.. and made no apologies for it. Needless to say I went with another inspector
