Very tasty Ethiopian/Etrian foods. I was impressed with the flavor as I eat Ethiopian foods often. First time here. Prices are very reasonable. The best part is the owner so genuine, friendly and caring so much about customer and our experience at his restaurant. Best experience! He does the cooking and serving by himself on weeknights. Nice patio space to stay out.

The new name of this restaurant is called Momona. It was formerly known as Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant & Bar. There was eleven of us in our group celebrating one of the nurses retirements. We decided to get several different dishes which were fantastic. Please see the pictures since I did not learn all the dishes names. The bread is called injera which is a sourdoughs risen bread more like a pancake in texture. Injera is known as the national dish of both Ethiopia and Eritrea. If you do not like eating with your hands then the server’s will offer you a plate and cutlery. The best part of the meal was the coffee. It comes with incense and popcorn! Yes, with popcorn with a slight seeet taste. It was very tasty. The presentation was superb. I would come back just for their coffee. They roast their own beans and the coffee with the spices was very tasty.

The food is delicious and healthy! I've tried one Ethiopian in Paris last fall while visiting my family and it was not even close to be as good as the food offered at the Abyssinia Ethiopan restaurant in Edmonton. And the owner and people working there are very nice. The restaurant is also decorated with taste. It is, overall, my favourite restaurant in Edmonton, all type of cuisine considered.

Great food! We had the wot and the chacha and the vegetable platter. Everything was really dwlicious. There's a great patio to sit on during nice summer days. The owner is really sweet and gave us awesome customer service. Reccomend

Food was on point. I’ve been craving Ethiopian food for a while and hoped to bring my boyfriend to eat authentic Tibs (their spicy beef) and it was amazing. Definitely recommend the coffee and the vegetarian platter with an added meat dish for two.

It's the same location as Abyssinia, but new owners, staff, and recipes. All dishes so far are delicious, spicy, very well made. The blend of Mitmita they use goes very well with the beef and chicken. I can't recommend the spiced tea enough; the perfect compliment to the dishes. I'd recommend starting with the Vegetarian Combo Platter, plus a meat dish or two. Very filling for two people.

The food was fantastic!! Issayas is running a great restaurant. I recommend everyone who hasn’t had Eritrean/Ethiopian foods to give this place a shot. We ordered a veggie combo platter with Tibs and it was cheaply priced for two. We took back leftovers for a full meal.
