By far the worst chicken and meat we've ever had, couldn't cut it with a knife tough and flavourless. They wouldn't return my email or calls, after spending 400 plus. Do yourself a favour and don't buy anything they sell.
I have ordered delivery from Sumas Mountain Farms a couple of times now and I am very happy with their high quality meat. The price is expensive, but it is similar in cost to buying at the local butcher or from online services like TruLocal. I have ordered their chicken, eggs and beef. The chicken is the best I have ever had, better than other local farms I have purchased from. The chickens are so meaty and flavourful, and one chicken can make meals for my family for a week. They remind me of the Hutterite chickens from Alberta. I haven't tried a lot of their beef products, but I love that their beef is very lean. I love their online order system, it's so easy and they deliver every week. The delivery folks are super friendly and nice too. It's great that they are SPCA certified, and they are the only farm that I could find in the Lower Mainland that has a license to process the animals on site. The animals don't need to be transported elsewhere for processing so they are truly farm to fork.
We used to purchase from SMF years ago and were always very happy with their product. I even referred many people to them since I work in the health industry. We stopped purchasing for a while due to busy lives and convenience of other product. We decided recently to try them again because we don't want to buy from grocery stores anymore. We spent a significant amount of money on cuts of meat just recently. The value for money just wasn't there. The bacon was overly cured and incredibly salty and just too expensive for what it was. There didn't seem to be much flavour to the pork or beef we ordered, very bland and tasteless. Shame really, we won't go back to them now. Can't afford to waste our money like that again.
