Tried to enter to go home to Alaska with my daughter that lives in Washington and she was denied entry since she didn't work or live in Alaska. So they politely kicked her out. I took her home, went back to the border by myself and got the 3rd degree from a different Canadian Border Guard. I was appalled at how rude and demanding he was being regarding the new rules they had implemented in the last few days. I just had 2 friends go through the border in the previous 7 days. Unfortunately I wish there was a different way to drive to Alaska. The ferry is too expensive and slow. Good news is that the checkpoints in the Yukon Territory have the nicest people. They were firm but polite that I had 24 hours to travel through the Yukon Territory, which I did do. Safe travels to everyone.

Truck drivers follow the instructions for after hour border services.

Not good for commercial trucks. Long wait and after that you’ll face rude behaviour.

Had an interesting experience going through this checkpoint; suffice to say they gave me the third degree on every suspicious activity they thought I might be up to - I had just moved to the area, had just lost my job, etc. 2 hours later they cleared up all confusion and let me pass. All I wanted to do was take a little drive around the Vancouver area and spend my accumulated Canadian coins! Lesson: have a game plan and articulate it clearly to the border guards, and if questioned, be honest and polite.
