The best place to buy fibre materials for hand dyeing. Some carded batts are probably great for felting but not for spinning. You can ask them to open the bag and let you feel it.

Staff are always helpful, full of great (and money-saving) ideas, and never make you feel less-than for being a beginner or lower skill level. They know their stuff! Beautiful yarn, great tools (lots of Ashford), a diverse selection of unconventional fibres, and bags and bags of wool!
I love this store, I go here for all my 100% wool. Every time I go in the lady is so nice who runs the store, she always helps me with my projects and has personally dyed the yarn for me free of charge. She also always spins my yarn into sizable ball to take home so it makes it easy for me to crochet with it. I would highly recommend this store to anyone who is looking for a 100% wool or looking to learn how to do spinning, weaving or felting.
First of all the shop layout is unique, from the industrial sized vintage carding machine which is still in operation, to the displays of beautiful wools, a feast for the eyes... The service was wonderful...I needed help finding a pattern for a baby blanket for my grand nephew...the knowledgeable manager helped me select the wools which were the exact shades desired by my niece, and printed off a pattern...thanks for your kindness Although I live in Vancouver, I am going there today for more wool and another project...2 thumbs up for this wonderful gem of a store!!!
Friendly owners; it's super fun to be there when the carding machine is running - I could watch it for hours!
