This a great vacation if you love horses and rustic. Consider this an all inclusive with riding all day on 60k acres. Three square meals a day and very rustic cabins, built over 100 years ago. The staff are awesome and super friendly. The CEO/President, John, is not terribly friendly and gets in the way. He'd do his staff good if he'd remain in the background. There are enough smart and hard working folks that know how to run the place and provide an awesome experience. Love Wendy the barn manager. Such a great personality. All the barn staff are awesome, probably because of her style. Kitchen staff are awesome as are all the wranglers. We will be back!

An experience like no other. I loved the unguided riding and acres of trails. While the rain washed some trails out there were still plenty of other trail options. The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating. Ariel has fantastic stories and a clear passion for her job. The property is stunning, and the lake is gorgeous, but the stars of the ranch are, of course, the horses. Special thanks to John, Wendy, Ariel, and Kim (I hope I got all the names right!) for their hospitality, and for going above and beyond to make our stay a great one, especially during these uncertain times.
New ownership has lost control over excessive drinking and bad behaviour at night., it's a disgrace to the legacy of this beloved place. As a woman travelling alone I was meant to leave the safety of my cabin in the middle of the night and find out who was responsible so that I could fill out an incident report. Are you serious!! Where did all the cowboys go? I was on vacation, that was not my job. I have been going to the ranch since I was a little girl and I brought my children there. I have never felt unsafe until now. It's incredibly disappointing
It's an amazing place to go to lay back and relax with your family. It is the last place where you are allowed to ride on the horses without a guide. The staff are amazing and the food is fantastic. I have been coming up to the flying U for about 10 years and have never been disappointed. Great work and I'll be up again.
Only unguided riding in North America. Not for all beginner groups. Great atmosphere and price for experience.
Great place little more on the rustic side but what do you expect it's a ranch had a great time !
Fantastic gem in the cariboo. Unforgettable experience and destination
The Flying U Ranch is Canada's oldest guest ranch, and it is a working ranch. The horses are wrangled every day, and guests are given free reign to ride their horse anywhere on the ranch's 60000 acres of land. On the property are numerous lakes and mountains to explore, with horse trails snaking all throughout. Guests stay in private cabins, and the price includes three meals a day, as well as access to water sports on Green Lake. Visiting the ranch has become an annual tradition for my family and some friends. If you want a taste of ranch life, I highly recommend this.
